US History - Introduction to the text : Puritans

1.  My topic of Puritans, was mentioned in chapter 2, on pages 59-61.

2. My topic can be found under the heading or subheading of New England, and Pilgrims.

3. The text is discussing my topic by using comparisons to Pilgrims and touching on where and how the Puritans originated. The larger conversation this event is apart of is the Puritan exodus and how the Puritans aspired to spread their religion.

4. Something I did not already know from my previous research is that Puritans embraced predestination, meaning they believed in the idea that God saved only a few chosen people. This then lead to the people of this congregation to live in great anxiety due to them worrying that God did not have a place for them in His kingdom.

This is an image of an example of The Puritan Church. This demonstrates what a church might look like for this congregation in comparison to today's churches. Particularly for The Puritan Church, the buildings were often very tall to show their close relationship to God.

8. Today's work allowed us to learn more specific details about our chosen timeline topic while also teaching us crucial learning techniques such as knowing how to use an index, subtitles, titles, images, etc. This will be very beneficial throughout the year for us to know how to use such learning tools possibly giving us, the students, a new and unique way to study.
